ONCE upon a time ago, I believed it was important to make it to the top. “Be Somebody,” was my holy mantra. On the flip side, I was haunted by the fear that I was a real life Nobody. This pushed me to achieve and accomplish. I was certain when I became a “published author,” the girl who felt like a Nobody most of her life would finally feel like Somebody. After my first book was released, I waited for Somebody to show up, but Nobody ever did. After public appearances, radio show interviews, magazine write ups, book signings and touring lecture circuits…how disappointed I was. I tried to dream my way into a better life, but only upon arriving was I shocked to discover a better life doesn’t come from what you do, how much you make, and how much you own in comparison to your neighbor. A better life is the byproduct of becoming a better YOU. You can’t do it. Achieve it. Or accomplish it. If it’s going to be sustainable, you’ll have to BECOME it, so that in the event that EVERYTHING YOU’VE ACQUIRED IS SUDDENLY STRIPPED AWAY, YOU’LL STILL OWN IT.
Make it your mission in Life to get what you CANNOT buy, because only then, will you truly have it ALL.
